Our Mission
Caring Matters Industries works to reduce food insecurity among low-income and homeless individuals in Colorado Springs. By providing consistent, nutritious, chef-prepared food we promote health, personal growth, and dignity.
How Caring Matters Industries Began
Caring Matters Industries was founded in 2023 by then-17-year-old Logan Sferrazza, our Chef. The project began when he began handing out sandwiches near I-25 to people in need. Since then, we have grown our food program to a twice-a-week basis with the goal of supporting the homeless community in Colorado Springs.
Each week, we focus on crafting restaurant-quality, nutritious, and comforting hot meals. To date, we’ve served over 5,000 individuals, showing up very Thursday and Sunday, rain or shine.

A Message From Our Leader
I started Caring Matters Industries to find a sense of belonging in my hometown of Colorado Springs. Growing up, I always wanted to help the people around me. Coming from a home where nutrition and fresh food were not always valued, I learned firsthand the physical and mental importance of a warm, fulfilling meal.
Through trial and error, I discovered that my passion is ultimately food. My love for the culinary arts gave me purpose and direction, helping me find my place in the world.
To build on that passion and better serve my community, I decided to attend culinary school. There, I deepened my understanding that food can do more than nourish the body. It can bring dignity, comfort, and fuel to those who need it most.
This belief is at the heart of everything we do at Caring Matters Industries. Through mobile food distribution and community outreach, I strive to use my training and passion to meet people where they are with a warm meal and remind them that they matter.
Food insecurity is a growing challenge in Colorado Springs. Rising living costs and limited access to affordable, fresh food leave many low-income residents struggling to find consistent meals. At the same time, food assistance programs are shrinking due to budget cuts and closures, creating even greater gaps in support.
With more than 1,700 individuals experiencing homelessness in the city, many lack reliable access to nutritious meals. National research suggests that nearly two-thirds of unhoused individuals face food insecurity, meaning hundreds in our community regularly go without enough food.
Inconsistent access to food affects much more than hunger. Physical health, mental well-being, and the ability to work toward stability all become problems with inconsistent access to food.
Caring Matters Industries helps address this need by bringing fresh, ready-to-eat meals directly to people through mobile food distribution.
Caring Matters Industries addresses food insecurity by bringing fresh, ready-to-eat meals directly to people through mobile food distribution. Each week, our Chef prepares restaurant-quality meals designed to be both nutritious and comforting.
We take our food seriously. Through weekly ingredient donations and community support, we have the opportunity to get creative in the kitchen and incorporate fresh ingredients into our menus. We also listen closely to the people we serve, often taking meal requests and adjusting our menu to include familiar comfort foods that our community enjoys.
Since our founding in 2023, Caring Matters Industries has served over 5,000 meals to neighbors in Colorado Springs experiencing food insecurity. While the number is meaningful, the true impact is reflected in the voices of the people we serve.
“I have never received a meal here that I wouldn’t pay $20–$30 for at a restaurant.”
“Knowing you guys will be here each week really gives me something to look forward to.”
These voices reflect the heart of our mission: serving fresh and comforting meals while building trust and consistency in our community.
